The Safety Centre is focused on delivering upon the RCH’s mission to improve the health and well-being of children and adolescents. By levering the hospital’s clinical knowledge, experience and up-to-date data, the Safety Centre is perfectly positioned to educate the community on ways to prevent unintentional injury.

The centre provides information and support, training and safety promotion programs and works closely with other like-minded organisations in the community on injury prevention projects and media campaigns, and lobbies for legislative reform to improve products, safety standards and environmental design.

In addition to an extensive range of online resources, the centre offers a telephone advice line during business hours on (03) 9345 5085.

People requiring individual advice on home safety or issues such as safe transport of children with additional needs are also welcome to make an appointment with one of our safety consultants.

The centre also assists municipalities that wish to reduce their injury and death rates by adopting the evidence-based International Safe Communities Framework.

You can download a brochure on the Safety Centre, or our most popular resource, the Home Safety Checklist here.
